A weekend at the Serene Lodge with the ENBAX crew.
Not much snow, but we got in a great hike anyway. From the Castle Peak Trailhead at Donner Summit, we hiked to Castle Peak (we did not summit Castle Peak), traversed across the snow slope to the north ridge coming off Castle, then north on the ridge to Basin Peak.
We then dropped off the West Face of Basin Peak down into Round Valley where we picked up the PCT. Hiked that to the Peter Grubb Hut, then back out the Castle Peak trail to the start. 10.5 miles round trip.
