A fun and relaxing weekend at loon Lake in California's Eldorado National Forest. We hung out around camp and did a hike back in to Spider Lake for a little island hopping.

* Lava Beds National Monument - Winter 2014
We had a great time showing some of our friends around Lava Beds National Monument. Four day and four nights and we still didn't have enough time to see everything. Matter of fact, we found four more things to do that will have to go on the to-do list for the next trip.
Heavy rain the first night, then windy Friday and Saturday with a few shower, but Sunday dawned cold and clear. We took advantage of the stellar weather and headed out into the wilderness for caving in some undeveloped caves, and tagged the Three Sisters in an epic cross country hike through the high desert.
Thank you Michael, Peggy, Justin, Catherine, Noriko, Asami, and Mark for being bold and intrepid caving and camping mates!
On the way home Marcie and I stopped off at Stewart's Mineral Springs out of Weed, CA. It's a fabulous setting and the mineral soak, naked jump in the creek, and the dry sauna were KILLER!! We will head out there again the next time we are up there.
