New LAOWA Lens

17mm F1.8 C-Dreamer Ultra Wide Angle Lens for MFT. Manual focus.

First out-of-the-box shots @1.8 in low light...hand held.

I probably don't really need this lens (I have both the 6mm and 10mm from Laowa, and a 9mm and 15mm wide angle Leica), but these Laowa wide angle lenses are inexpensive and I love how they work with my Lumix GX9 for adventure type photography.

I'll get it outside and try it in a couple days when the rain stops.

My Beginning Film Presets

I've started building some of my own film stimulations/presets. I've purchased some commercial preset like those from Luminar and other from individual photographers, but I'm more interested (right now) simulating old film recipes.

Here is what I have come up with today. I feel these will fall in the "Nostalgic" category, but they aren't based on any specific film brand/type.

Nostalgic - warm

Nostalgic - cool

I just realized one of my favorite sayings comes into play here: The more you learn, the less you know.

Update #2 - Eureka Mural Walk

More Eureka Mural (and historic buildings) shots below.

This was the third excursion and I had a lot of fun roaming Old Town and downtown Eureka searching for these treasures.

The official Mural Walk showcases 36 murals and historic building, but many more have been put up in the last several years and to find them one just has to walk up and down side streets and through alleys...they are everywhere.

Some are very artistic, some not so much, but the purpose of this project is to capture them all for my own enjoyment and to share with friends and family.
