Salt Point Hike
With Meet In The Middle hikers. 10 miles at the lovely Salt Point State Park.
This was a new trail for me. We hike along the bluff north of Gerstle Cove, then crossed Highway 1 to the east side and climbed up to and hiked on a ridge road for about a mile. Got back on trails and looped back down to the campgrounds and back to the start, where we enjoyed snacks and a little wine on the bluff.
Mostly forest hiking so we didn't have the classic Salt Point bluff views, but this was a great workout with a group of hikers that like the 3 mph+ pace. Two thumbs up!
(I had the settings on my Lumix LX10 messed up, so image quality isn't up to par)

Russian River Kayaking
About a 4 mile paddle on the Russian River in Sonoma County, CA.
I have never paddled with this group before. It wasn't what I am use to by any stretch of the imagination. It was kind of like having fun, only different. I'll leave it at that. :)
There weren't many picture worthy moments...

Sea Kayak Host Training
With Explore North Coast Sea Kayaking Club in Humboldt County.
It was windy with wind gusts to 20 mph, and the water temp was 50 degrees, but it was still a successful get together with nineteen attendees and lots of new to the club paddlers. There were four Humboldt State University students that were there through HBAC (Humboldt Bay Aquatic Center) and it was fun to see them getting involved in some not-so-pleasent conditions.
The follow-up session will be 3/26 at Trinidad where we can get on the ocean and practice more drills.
