* Infused water

I saw this recipe on-line and liked it. Infused spring water for detoxification, energy, and hydration.

It seems we are always wanting something refreshing and tasty in the evenings before and with dinner. Obviously soda is out, and flavored sparkling water is nice, but gets old, so this sounded interesting. There were a few other recipes we will try, but made this one to start.

Spring water, lemon, lime, cucumber, and mint. Chill and serve.

1/2 gallon jar

* Elite Fitness in 100 Words

From Crossfit...

“Eat meat and vegetables, nuts and seeds, some fruit, little starch and no sugar. Keep intake to levels that will support exercise but not body fat. Practice and train major lifts: Deadlift, clean, squat, presses, C&J, and snatch. Similarly, master the basics of gymnastics: pull-ups, dips, rope climb, push-ups, sit-ups, presses to handstand, pirouettes, flips, splits, and holds. Bike, run, swim, row, etc, hard and fast. Five or six days per week mix these elements in as many combinations and patterns as creativity will allow. Routine is the enemy. Keep workouts short and intense. Regularly learn and play new sports.”

* TBT - 2004 Moon Goddess Arete

My friend Doug A just put up some old pictures of our climb of the Moon Goddess Arete on Temple Crag back in 2004 on his blog.

Adventures of D & J

This climb is probably on my short list of "Best Climbs".

* Clearlake Water Trail: Anderson Marsh

From the Redbud County Park launch in Clearlake, we paddled up into Anderson Marsh, exploring the two large sloughs. It was a loop paddle, and on the way past the Cache Creek outlet, we turned down and followed it for about a mile.

Back in the marsh, we paddled back to the main lake body, and back to the launch.

About 7 miles total, and 3 hours of paddling.

* Fiske Peak Hike

In Yolo County/Capay Valley, from the Cache Creek Lower Day Use area, we climbed the North Blue Ridge trail to the summit of Fiske Peak. A little over 8 miles total with about 2,300ft of elevation gain.

With the Napa hiking group.

* Sacramento Valley Ramble

We had a great time today visiting a few Sacramento National Wildlife Refuges and driving the backroads through the grain fields looking for wildlife.

We need rain, but it is hard not to enjoy such great weather in one of California's most interesting areas. More pictures coming once I can get them processed.
