* South Humboldt Bay Paddle

A nice 5.4 mile tour in South Humboldt Bay. From the South Spit access road, we paddled the incoming tide down to the South Humboldt Bay State Marine Preserve, then over to the mouth of Hookton Slough. The wind was picking up and the fog moving in, and because this wasn't a shuttle paddle and we had to paddle back, we decided to take a bearing and start the two mile journey back across the bay to where we put in. It was slightly bumpy, but white caps never developed and it was a pretty easy paddle back to the truck.

The plan for the next trip will be from the South Jetty, float the incoming tide down to the Hookton Slough launch, where we will have a shuttle.

Total miles: 5.4
