After a windy and cold night in Torrey Utah, we decided to abandon our planned early morning slot canyon hike in Capital Reef National Park because the winds were still gusting to about 30mph. We decided to push on to the Cedar Mesa area and let this front blow through.
Traveling down highway 95 between Hanksville and and Natural Bridges National Monument we drove past the Hog Springs trailhead. We had an early start, so we decided to stop and see what Hog Springs was all about. It turned out to be a nice little pool with a free falling trickling waterfall about 1.5 miles up a brushy canyon.
Nothing spectacular, but a nice hike with no crowds. About 3 miles out-and-back...
