* Kershaw-Ryan State Park
Our first camp: one night.
In Nevada near the cool little town of Caliente. Kershaw-Ryan State Park is rated one of the top 10 state parks in Nevada.
We didn't have time to explore, but it sits in this picturesque desert canyon with hiking opportunities.

* Alien Research Center
Near Hiko, Nevada on the "Extraterrestrial Highway" (Nevada State Route 375). Really just a alien related gift shop...but it was fun.
If you have never driven Highway 375 in Nevada, give it a try...if you like being alone.

* Old Tonopah Cemetery
Along with the Clown Motel, this is someplace we have been wanting to look at every time we drive through Tonopah. This year, on our way to Utah, we factored in a day to check things out.

* Tread Lightly
I thought this was a great message for all of us that crave less crowds and the less traveled places. Tread often, but tread lightly. Be aware of where you are, how lucky you are to be there, and respect the area you are in.
From Overland Bound
@mlancewilliams - “Tread lightly, but don’t forget to tread. I think Mother Nature likes a good massage, just not a beeating. We likely live on the most unique planet, at least in our system👽. Nearly everything natural around us is miraculously sustaining us and all life (h2o, carbon dioxide, bacteria, oxygen, atmosphere, gravity, etc.). I can’t wait to find some new adventures and memories in 2019 with my family and friends.”
