* Two Paddles and a Peak - Ahjumawi Lava Springs State Park Paddle

 A Fall paddle at one of our favorite destinations. The weather was great and we saw a lot of wildlife. Large fish, eagles, hawks, pelicans, river otters, and blue heron.

* Two Paddles and a Peak - Butte Lake Paddle

At Lassen National Park. The water level is pretty low, so many of the little coves in the lava flow we have paddle before are high and dry.

* Lake Sonoma Hike II

Lake Sonoma LNU Lightning Complex Fire Photos

The South Lake Trail from Old Skagg Springs Road to Buck Pasture Campground and back. 6 miles total.

It's burned pretty bad here and the fire got down to the lake in several places. There are close to 10 down trees just in this section that require going over, through, or around. The fire appears to have moved fast, burning mostly grass and brush. Hopefully the area will recover fast...if we can get some rain.

This section is not passable for equestrians at this point.

* Lake Sonoma Hike...

...to Bummer Peak.

Serene at sunrise.

Burn area from the LNU Complex Fire in August this year.

In the Global Supertanker video below, when she makes her two dumps, they were in the area to the right of this photo.

* 100,000 Views Milestone

October 16, 2020...a crazy year!

100,000 views milestone. I've had this blogspot for about 10 years, and use it mainly as a way to keep track of where we have been, trip dates, to share our pictures, and somewhere to go in the evenings while sipping scotch to relive good times.

Thanks for stopping by. Hope something here has inspired you or helped you in some way over the years.
