It was a mild weekend with regard to ocean conditions, but it was fun to poke around and enjoy what the ocean offered up.

A Little Too Close For Comfort

This just happened on Pine Mountain above Cloverdale, CA. They made quick work of it and had it out in about 45 minutes. Two retardant tankers and two helo water tankers. Cal Fire in on it this year!! Great work firefighters!

Escape The Heat
We headed to Humboldt County and the Northern California coast to escape the 100+ degree heat we were having in Sonoma County. A fun three day trip with redwood and coastal hiking, plus great campfire food.

Lake Sonoma Morning
A morning hike on the North Slope Trail. That's Lake Sonoma Resort & Marina below with Mount St. Helena in Napa County on the horizon.

We are lucky to have Lake Sonoma and the lake trails so close to us. It allows us to get in early morning exercise hikes without a lot a travel. This was the six mile 1/2 Canoe Loop hike (with the Bummer Peak loop).

Lumix GX9 with Panasonic Leica DG 15mm f1.7 Summilux Prime Lens

I read nothing but good things about this lens and can confirm it was all true! A great little prime lens for travel and around town photography. Super sharp images and a joy to use so far with the Panasonic LUMIX GX9 MFT camera. The 15mm mft is equivalent to 30mm full sensor camera (35mm).
This was the first time I have had it out. A short work-out hike at Lake Sonoma.
