The Hammond Coastal Trail - North

We did a nice hike on the Hammond Coastal Trail starting in McKinlyville, CA. From Hiller Park we hiked North for 5 miles to Clam Beach, had lunch near the ocean, and hiked back to our starting point. 

Total miles: 10.25
Total time (with lunch): 3 hours, 46 minutes

Fun Day On The McCloud River

We got in a McCloud River Trail hike, casting small spinners for trout, cooling off in the river, and disbursed camping that night in the Modoc National Forest. Pretty much avoided the July 4th holiday crowds with strategic planning. 😁

Sand Flat Hike

We were back at Mount Shasta for a couple days of hiking and camping. This was a hike from our camp at Sand Flat Road on the Everitt Memorial Highway up to Horse Camp, then on up Olberman's Causeway to just below the start of the climber's gully area (8337ft.) on the Avalanche Route.

Total loop miles: 6.8
