Abbotts Lagoon at Point Reyes

A nice early morning hike out to the Point Reyes coast via the Abbotts Lagoon Trail. Labor Day Weekend so we went early and had (more) coffee on the beach. Nice morning with fog and no wind. The salmon fleet was working the area right off shore.

I can see us going back to hike the secluded dunes and wetlands surrounding the lagoon as the fog lifts and the days turn sunny and mild later this month and into October.

Low Water at Lake Sonoma

From the Yorty Creek Day Use area, a hike out to suss out the water level. I haven't seen it this low in over 20 years.

 A foggy stroll up Black Sands Beach at Shelter Cove on the Lost Coast.

 

 

Lost Coast Day Hike

From the Needle Rock Visitor Center (on the Lost Coast Trail - South), we hiked North on the Lost Coast Trail searching for Elk. We found a few, and some ocean gorgeous views.

About 4 miles total.
