Where the spirit leads the feet will follow.
Down distant paths for unmapped miles.
Heads forget but hearts remember:
The art of living knows no bounds.

Camino Frances: Stage 1

We flew out of Northern California on Sunday August 11th, and landed in Barcelona Spain on Monday August 12th. Tuesday morning we hopped on the high speed rail to Pamplona Spain, hired a cab to drive us the 73 miles up and over into France to Saint Jean Pied de Port. We started our Camino de Santiago walk, via "The Frence Way", on Thursday August 15th.

August 15-16, 2024: Saint Jean Pied de Port in France, to Roncesvalles in Spain via the Route de Napoleon. About 25km (15.5 miles). We wanted to spend the night at the Orrison Refuge in the Pyrenees Mountains, so we made this stage a two day hike.
