Warner Mountains Day Hike

Warren Peak in the South Warner Mountains in Northeast California has been on our list as a backpack for quit a while. We were in the area but didn't want to backpack it, so we hiked it...getting as close as we could as a day hike. The round trip mileage to Patterson Lake (in the bowl below Warren) is 13.5 miles, and longer if one continues up past Patterson Lake to climb the ridge to the Warren high point.

We hiked out four miles to get a look at the peak and surrounding area, figuring we will come back some day prepared to backpack to Patterson and climb up to the peak. A beautiful area with 360 degrees views and a pretty easy trail.

From the Pepperdine Campground trailhead: We did 8 miles total out-and-back.
